This is an update on my daily paintings collection, covering some of my dailies from 2022. I started in October 2015, and am now over 2500 days into this challenge. Most of my dailies are done in Adobe Illustrator, though I still do traditional sketches for Inktober, which I put in separate galleries.

There was a very stark moment I will always remember in my daily painting journey, and that moment was on November 1, 2015. I had just completed my first Inktober, and I remember sitting there and pondering on whether I should continue or not.

I remember feeling that it had already been decided and the ‘why not’ was not saddled with a sense of dread in what I was undertaking. I knew I could do it, and more importantly, that I would.

I think that’s the result of a successfully formed habit. It requires different ingredients for every person, as well as a variable timeframe, but if you succeed, you get that feeling like you’ve always been there and never been without this piece of your life. I could have started sooner, but the thing that matters most is the start itself. You’ve got to make that start happen.
